Man, that was awesome. I'm going through this same "problem" right now, I need to punch up some dialogue for a series I'm working on, this will help a lot, many thanks! And please keep sharing your experience on Poker Face, I love the show and since the first season it gave me a vibe that it would be something you would write. So happy to see you on the show.

This is great. I'm a fan of the idea that every character, however small, should get their moment, however short, and this is a great way of thinking about it.

This is so good. I often find the "sameness" issue between characters in my first drafts and this is such a great angle on why!

Just getting to all of this article, after viewing s2 ep4/5/6 this week. The mentioned thematics, is --likely in sum-- why I really went so whole-hog for The Queens Gambit....a few years back.

Show's "talent-pool-structure" of inevitably immense personalities in 1. chess play circuit/history, and, 2. backstory and then some all true in bio of orphan-narrative --all-but guaranteed unique and quirky character voices.no dull.

Hurwitz and Schlosberg doing some more by this way, io io
