Maybe I'm a sadist, but I love hearing the harsh truths. This article is fantastic. Thank you so much for taking the time to write and share it. You're the best kind of person.
Thank you for digging this one out again (Twitter 31OCT2022)... Just the warmup I needed this afternoon as I embark upon a page-one-rewrite... Have an awesome Halloween!
Nice try! Nobody understands the impact my story will have on viewers better than myself. I never submit because I won’t submit. Without submission there is no admission. You feel me?
I laughed in all the right spots. Thanks for making the time to share.
The message of this post is understandable. But damn, it reminds me very much of the youtubers who learn the first ten seconds of their video are the most important in order to attract attention of the viewer and start going out of their way to do all sorts of crazy shit in the first ten seconds. Not because this crazy shit helps them convey the message or their artistic vision, but because they want to attract viewer's attention and it's oftentimes so obvious and corny.
So my thoughts, reading the post, were the writers should try to achieve what you said without falling into looking like those desperate youtubers.

Thank you, Tony.
Thanks for putting this together Tony. The tweets were great but it's nice to have it written out like this.
This is absolute gold! I’m exactly the screenwriter this is intended for. Thank you for writing it Tony :)

Clear, honest, actionable industry advice is such a rare gift. Thank you.
Wait... I thought "my" script was the last one in Jojo's stack, this late on Sunday.
Did a courier arrive at some point, off-screen, with the script by the producer's nephew..?
Are you trying to "Tarantino" us, Tony..?
: P
All kidding aside, this is great advice.
I have a story idea which would benefit from some re-writing, just to give it the kind of intro you mention.
Thanks for the insight.
